About me and How I came to print T-Shirts

Hello , thanks for joining our mailing list.

My name is Nick and I am the founder of bikertshirt.co.uk .I thought it’d be nice for you to get to know a little bit more about me on a personal level and how we came about printing t-shirts

I have always been passionate about motorcycles, even before I was legally allowed to ride them on the road. I remember as a young lad about the age of  12-13  watching the TV Show Kick Start way back  in the 80s. I guess this is what really got me interested in motorcycles. It wasn’t long after watching that TV show that me and my friends all chipped in and bought a Honda C90 otherwise known as a bog seat or bogger. Later, after lot’s of  saving my loose change- literally,  I was able to buy a ty50 of  my own. I remember turning up with a plastic bread bag full of loose change and  counting it out in my friend's bedroom. Then riding my new prized possession back home through the country lanes with my friend on the back, no helmets of course! I was now the proud owner of a  Yamaha TY 50 with two bald tyres.(Oh the smell of burning 2 stroke oil, beautiful) I didn’t care. I loved that motorcycle with all my heart, until the police took it off me some time later!  I was chased by two police officers on foot but riding a 50cc moped without any grip on a muddy field, I didn’t get very  far.I was heartbroken when they took it :(

Later on as soon as I was 16 I bought my first road legal bike, a Yamaha fs1e or otherwise known as a fizzy or fizzer. I was hooked, that was it, I have owned bikes ever since. At 18 I joined the military The Royal Corps of Transport and was put through my motorcycle test. I got to ride the Armstrong 500,  a single cylinder rotary engine, then kept stalling and was an absolute a-hole to start. I then went on to purchase my own rdlc 350, Suzuki GSX-R, Honda CBR And so on and so on.

At the age of 30 I had left the UK  looking for adventure and what ever came my way and traveled to Thailand. Initially I thought I would be backpacking for 6-months. However,  I ended up staying there for 17 years. I met a wonderful woman and we have been together ever since -  over 20 years in fact and we have an 18-year old son together.

During my time in Thailand bikes were still a big part of my life, although as I got older I moved from sports bikes to Cruisers. I ended up becoming part of a motorcycle club over there (biking is fantastic over there and there are many famous MC's that have chapters there) and because I was the guy who knew Photoshop I was tasked with designing our club merchandise. Before you know it I’d expanded my Photoshop design skills to screen printing and was the member printing all our t-shirts and other merchandise. As my son was getting older I was getting concerned about his education and also wanted to  be closer to my parents as they aged, so we moved back to the UK, this is where we are right now, back in the UK.

I had to do something when I arrived back in the UK so Screen Printing T-Shirts it was and bikertshirt.co.uk was born.

I do have plans to hopefully one day get back to Thailand, after all that’s where my heart is and also a couple of my motorbikes are in storage!
